How do I reserve rental equipment?

Step 1: Select Baby Equipment & Supplies

  • Simply view all items on the equipment page
  • Download our order form
  • Record item(s), duration of rental and credit card information
  • Download our Rental Agreement/Waiver for review and signature

Step 2:   Submit Request to Travelbug Baby

  • We will call you to set up a delivery time

How far in advance should I reserve?

We request a minimum of 48 hours notice, however to ensure availability we recommend that you reserve as early as possible. Sometimes it is not always possible to provide notice and we will do our best to fulfill your request. Please inquire directly by telephone for orders placed with less than 48 hours notice.

What if I would like to keep my equipment for longer than I reserved?

We are happy to accommodate your request, but require that you confirm your rental product is available by calling or emailing our office at

Is there a minimum rental period and/or charge?

We offer daily and weekly rates for rentals and can provide a discounted rate for rental periods longer than 7 days. We do require a minimum order of $25.00 before tax and delivery.

Do you provide discounts for multiple items or extended rentals?

Absolutely.  We recognize that traveling with children, especially infants, requires a lot of equipment. We offer an extended stay discount starting in the 2nd  week. You can also view our ‘Getaway Packages’ for recommended bundles of equipment that provide additional savings.

What is your cancellation policy?

Plans do change especially when you have children. We require 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your order. We will need to charge an administrative fee of $30 if provided with less than 48 hours notice.

Why do I need to sign a Rental Agreement/Waiver?

It is important to understand and agree on the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. If you have any questions regarding this agreement, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team at or (647) 348-7123.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, Visa, MasterCard and American Express to reserve and process your payment.

When am I charged for my reserved rental gear?

Your credit card will be charged at the time of reservation and to confirm the order. If you make a change or cancel your order then the charge on the credit card supplied will be reversed.

Is there a delivery fee?

We charge between a $20 to $25 delivery fee that includes set-up and pick up. This covers the Toronto area and includes Pearson Airport.

Can you deliver to the airport?

Absolutely! We would love to welcome you to Toronto. Our staff will contact you to request information such as flight details to ensure your equipment is waiting for you when you arrive.

Can I pick up the rental items rather than pay for delivery?

Not at this time. We are working on making this possible in the future.

Car Seat Safety

What are the car seat laws in Ontario?

The fine for not using a child car seat or booster seat as required by law is up to $1,000. In Ontario, all drivers are required to use proper child car seats and booster seats when transporting young children.

The Infant Car Seat is designed for infants who weigh less than 9 kg (20 lbs.)

  • Infants must be buckled into a rear-facing child car seat attached to the vehicle by a seatbelt or the UAS strap.
  • Infant seats are best installed in the back seat and not in front of an airbag that could seriously injure the baby.

The Child Car Seat is designed for toddlers 9 to 18 kg (20 to 40 lbs.)

  • Toddlers are buckled into a child car seat attached to the vehicle by a seatbelt or a UAS strap.
  • The seat’s tether strap must also be attached to the vehicle’s tether anchor.
  • Children weighing beyond 9 kg (20 lbs) may remain in a rear-facing child car seat if the car seat is designed to accommodate the child’s height and weight.

The booster seat secures your child using the car’s shoulder and lap belts. Booster seats raise a child up so that the adult seatbelt works more effectively. They are required for children who are:

  • under the age of eight
  • weighing more than 18 kg but less than 36 kg (40-80lbs)
  • less than 145 cm (4 feet 9 inches) tall.
  • The child’s head must be supported by the top of the booster, vehicle seat or headrest.

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when installing a child car seat in your vehicle.

Do you install car seats?

We do not install car seats for liability reasons. We selected only car seats that are easy to install and use. All rentals will be provided with the installation.

How safe are your car seats that you rent?

All of our car seats are purchased new and have the CMVSS (Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) symbol on the label. This means that they are complaint with Transport Canada’s Child car seat safety regulations.

What is the Latch System?

Latch systems are also called Universal Anchor Systems (UAS). All vehicles in Canada manufactured after September 1st 2002 are equipped with hooks to attach a Universal Anchor System. You use the Latch system or the seatbelts but not both.

I was in a car accident and everyone is fine, but what should I do with my rented car seat?

Car seats should not be used when they have been in any type of car accident or dropped. Contact our office and we will immediately replace your car seat with a new one. Safety of our customers and their children is our first priority.

Why shouldn’t I borrow a used car seat instead of renting?

Car seats are dangerous if they have been in a collision, recalled, expired or missing important hardware such as a chest clip. You will also need an instruction manual to safely install it in your vehicle. It is difficult to know the history or where your car seat originated from when obtaining a used one. Renting will provide peace of mind in knowing the history of the seat has been monitored and documented.

Are Your Products Clean?

Absolutely! We make safety and cleanliness our priority. We only use non-toxic and biodegradable products that contain only naturally derived ingredients and are not tested on animals. Our products of choice are produced by, Nature Clean, a company that has been providing alternative cleaning solutions since the early 60s. They offer full ingredient disclosure and are EcoLogo Certified. We would be happy to provide additional information upon request.

Why would I rent instead of trying to pack it all or borrowing?

A majority of air carriers not only charge extra baggage fees but have reduced the number and weight of luggage that is permitted. It can be costly to try and bring all the baby gear you will require while travelling. Renting will save you time, space and reduce your stress. Book your gear today and let us provide you with peace of mind before your holidays start.
